WOW! Here it is, a story about SLOUCH.
Slouch is what happens when three kids from broken homes try to fill the void with music,girls and yes drugs. It starts like this Sean meets Jay in 7th or 8th grade through Jay's brother Todd. Jay likes playing the drums and Sean just started playing guitar. They don't play together they just party, you know kid stuff? Jay moves to Florida
Sean meets Jack in 8th or 9th grade and Jack doesn't care much for Sean at first. One day Sean goes over to Jack's with his partner in crime Ricky so they can smoke some green stuff. Sean hears a guitar through the window and gets excited. Sean walk's into Jack's house and ask's if he can play Jack's guitar. Jack looks at Sean like he is crazy and says "you play guitar?" Sean looking like a new kid on the block more than a rocker says yeah I play a little and proceeds to play sanatarium from Metallica. Jack and Sean become friends from that point on.
Jay comes back to PA to live with his dad and ends up at the same school as Jack and Sean. Sean sees Jay walking home one day and asks if he wants to hang out. Jay says sure and the two hang out from that point on.
Sean, Jay, And Jack hang out everyday after school till they graduate. They become best friends and party all the time. After highschool Sean plays in his first band with Bill Doughery (singer of THE SUICIDE PACT) and they play a gig, it goes good then the band breaks up. Sean starts writing songs everyday, all day.
One night while partying with Jack and Jay, Sean asks his best friends if they would start a band with him. Jack says i don't know man, I haven't really played the bass in a while man, and Jay says i don't even have a drumset. Sean says fuck that, you guys are playing.
A few months go buy and Jay buys a drumset and the three practice at Jacks dads house. The three are noisy,loose, and inexperienced but they have heart. They continue to practice when they can and Sean and Jack start writing together when there not practicing with Jay.
Jay's dad buy's a house and for some strange reason let's Slouch turn his basement into a 4 day a week practice spot(this went on for 4 to 5 years GOD BLESS HIM) Slouch plays its first gig at a party and it goes well. Slouch starts to play bars even though none of them were old enough to get into bars and the buzz starts.
Over the the years of 95 to 99 Slouch has played many venues in Philly,New York ,Jersey, Delaware. Slouch was played on many radio stations including 94.1 WHYSP and had a few live performances on the loudnlocal show with Tommy Conwell.
In 1999 Slouch co-produced with ChadIGinsburg (of CKY) Title Missing. The album was Slouch's last and only LP with 10 rocking songs that can still be heard on 94.1 WYSP and in the hearts of the true SLOUCH fan.
Slouch packed many venues and always gave there all whether 500 people showed up or 3 people showed up. There stage presence was intense and raw. The songs were powerful and real. The love these guys had for each other and music is something that is sadly missed in today's music and we can only hope that someone brings passion and vunerability back into rock very soon.
