Dark Oars

Dark Oars has been a work in progress for roughly 2 years. They rose from the ashes of another local band called the Speak which stopped playing music together in 2005. Chris Carlton and Andy Kivela continued to work on music together, creating something wholly different from what the Speak was. The music was darker and more plodding than the indie pop ruckus that personified the Speak. They recently took aboard the inimitable Kris Coia on bass. She has helped develop the sound further: deepened the grooves, layered new meanings, transfigured the ramblings, and enlightened the drifting waking dreams. Watch for this new trinity, sculling toward you from out of the mist!
