"The Rich and Full-bodied sound of Martin Kern" is simply, Soul Stirring !He was born into a musical family in Switzerland, where his education in music began, then finally concluded in New York City. Initially practicing cello and studying in a classical setting, he shortly thereafter incorporated saxophone then upright bass to his studies. He fully emerged himself into Jazz mainly from the Be-Bop period, being heavily influenced by Artists such as Sonny Rollins, and Charlie Parker.This fine and dedicated musician plays with astonishing endurance and power. He's seemingly...... "Un-exhaustable". He has shared the stage with many fine musicians such as George Cables whom he both recorded and performed with. Other noteworthy colleagues include Johnny Griffin, Randy Brecker, Eric Lewis and a host of others.Now living in Berlin, Germany, he performs as "Bandleader" with his own Quartet, and many other popular artist on the local scene. He recently recorded a collection of his original compositions, where his warm and unique sound is beautifuly demonstrated."I love performing, for me it's different everytime.
