About Me

BEFORE YOU GO ANY FURTHER...I NO LONGER USE THIS PAGE. I HAD TO SET UP A MUSIC PAGE FOR OBVIOUS REASONS. SO WITHOUT FURTHER DELAY PLEASE, PLEASE CLICK ON LEE HEDLEY BAND ICON IN MY TOP FRIENDS BELOW, OR GO TO WWW.MYSPACE.COM/LEEHEDLEYBAND INSTEAD. SORRY FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE. LEEBlues-Rock Singer, Harmonica player, slide guitarist and Front man of Lee Hedley Band. My band is a hard workin', good fun, high energy, rock and roll / blues band . The band has a sound that is quite original but at the same time it is a potent high energy cocktail reminiscent of early Rolling Stones, Free, The Who, The Faces, Dr. Feelgood, J Geils Band etc etc. Went to Beale Street, Memphis Tennessee a few years ago and left part of my soul there...I gotta go back someday and get it back! I was originally taken under the wing of family friend and Irish Soul / Blues Legend Sam Mahood, and I have been fronting and blowing blues-harmonica for various Rock and Blues outfits since 1991. I've played on the same stage and supported an endless list of stars from various genres on his way up the long and seamingly never ending 'showbiz' ladder. These include some other homegrown, but household pop names such as The Corrs and Westlife; Irish Soul Band The Commitments and Dublin's very own Blues Harmonica maestro Don Baker, whom Bono from U2 has been quoted as being "...the best blues harmonica player in the world". I have enjoyed numerous TV appearances and even recorded a live session on the Paul Jones Blues Show for BBC Radio 2. My 'Blues for Concern' album in 2000 caught the attention of Old Grey Whistle Test presenter "Whispering" Bob Harris, who immediately handed it to Ex- Manfred Man frontman Paul Jones, who in turn set up the session with my band (formerly called Beale Street Boogie Band). But even with all of the above, the highlight for the Lee Hedley Band was most definitely the last 2 Irish Tours with Ex-Muddy Waters Chicago Blues guitarist, John Primer. John is a gentleman off-stage but an hardnened taskmaster and teacher on-stage. I learned more from John in one week than I learned in the past 15 years. We will NEVER play the same way again.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Myself - only about 20 years ago. So I can avoid a few of the pitfalls that have tripped me up!Then again, I wouldn't have changed a thing (honest). Roger Daltrey, Pete Townsend of The Who, they are the best band ever! Kim Wilson (Fabulous Thunderbirds)- He's the man! Van Morrison - I reckon I would have him tamed in about 33 minutes (or less)! Paul Rodgers - Nuff said! Elvis (No silly - The real one),Jim Morrison, John Lennon, Jimi (Hendrix), Rory Gallagher, Stevie Ray Vaughan but I have missed the boat I guess. Oops, nearly forgot - The late Lee Brilleaux(Dr.Feelgood's legendary frontman) Eric Clapton, I feel that I have sooo much to discuss with Eric. Rod Stewart, so as I can sing a good ol' Rock'n'Roll tune with him. Noel Gallagher, want to work out a wee song with him. Mark Feltham (blues harp player with Nine Below Zero). Liam Gallagher, so as I can give him a good slap and ask him to pour me and Noel another bottle of Bollinger.
