He was born to Johnny and Laurie Barta. He has two brothers, Joshua and Billy Ray Barta. JP was raised in Flour Bluff. He graduated in 2000 from Flour Bluff as an "All Star Athlete." He enlisted in Army February 6, 2004. JP married his wife of one year, Eunji, on November 1, 2005. He will always be remembered for his big heart and his kindness to others. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
