The core members of East Coast Outfit are brothers Ian and Gary Smith from Edinburgh,Scotland. As singer-songwriters the brothers have been performing together in Scotland'sthriving and competitive urban/suburban acoustic music bar scene and established folk clubcircuit as the acoustic duo PoachersToo (Ian on vocals & nylon strung guitar with Gary on bass)
What's in a name? Most of the brothers' appearances and time to date have been spent inGlasgow and the West of Scotland, most notably with the Glasgow Songwriters Club. In this small country bizarrely the 40 or so miles distance meant that Edinburgh is regardedas being from a far away place, hence the name East Coast Outfit, to distinguish them fromthe Wild West beyond Newbridge.
As Gary says, "There's a universal appeal for this kind of music be it in Glasgow, Galveston or Godalming"
Ian adds, "It's just a great song and I want people to buy it so we can do more."
