Hi folks. Im from Hartlepool, England. Yes the monkey hanging town. I started writing songs when I saw a scrappy looking thing with a few rusty strings on it at a friends house. It kind of resembled a guitar, only it looked like it had been run over by a steamroller and been through 56 bare knuckle rounds with the Bronx bull. Anyway, my friend gave me the guitarish looking thing, and I got straight into making terrible sounds, songs on it. A while later with a little help from my finger gymnastic ragtime guitar playing farther I improved. At the same time I was learning from songs and music by great artists like Roy Harper, John Martyn, Bob Dylan, Scott Joplin, Davy Graham, Nick Drake etc. So I soon got the hang of how to structure songs a bit better. I wouldnt really know how to describe my music, I tend to just come up with it and leave it for others to judge
