London Liming: A Spoken Word lime in London
London Liming is a spoken word party hosted by renaissance one. Imagine an event where you can soak up spoken word, dance, drink, chat and hang out with whomever you like - London Liming takes its influence from Trinidad ‘limin’ culture – offering a chilled-out carnival vibe, whatever the weather.We offer bite-sized spoken word and poetry, mixed with brazilian, soca and dance music played by some of the hottest DJs around.
Our sizzling line-ups of writers and performers have featured Mutabaruka, Patience Agbabi, Mike Ladd, Sophie Woolley, John Agard, Stacy Makishi, Anthony Joseph, Francesca Beard, Michael Horovitz, Karen McCarthy, Lemn Sissay, Metis, Sureshot, Polar Bear, Aoife Mannix, Roger Robinson and many more.
DJ's have included DJ Cliffy (Batmacumba/Future World Funk) and Charlie Dark ( Blacktronica ).

ABOUT RENAISSANCE ONE
As a key champion of spoken word in the UK, renaissance one has curated shows and tours that combine words with music, film and visuals, including 'modern love' (2001 - 2003), KIN (2004) and Off Centre (2005). We're excited to be able to work in and present the best in contemporary spoken word and literature; writers we've collaborated with include Linton Kwesi Johnson, Earl Zinger, Charlie Dark, Ali Smith, Paul Beatty, Ben Okri, Ekow Eshun, Jackie Kay, Gary Younge, Michèle Roberts, Andrea Levy, Kwame Kwei-Armah, Zena Edwards and Sophie Woolley. We currently run mentoring programmes for creative producers interested in working in spoken word and developing their touring expertise.
