Born December 30, 1988 in the wild 100’s of Chicago’s south side (121st Indiana) Chicagorilla Lo was influenced by the life of crime heavily at a young age. Being born in a two bedroom apartment with five kids in total Lo and his older brother (TRILL) only had one place to call home the STREETS. As a result to living in a poor environment the two brothers were forced to live life in the fast lane doing whatever it took to get money. After Lo turned 13 years of age he was forced to have to leave his mother’s home for many reasons. That resulted to him going to the Eastside of Chicago (75th South Shore) to live with his Grandmother. The Chicagorilla still continued to get involved with the drug game, before going to high school Lo was caught in a home invasion with one of his close friends and was forced to serve time in juvenile. The friend he was with worked with the police and was let go free but Lo was forced to do a couple months before the charges were eventually dropped.
After being released in 2003 he continued to do the same thing and in 2004 it landed him right back in juvenile. In January of 2005 he was released and began to do things smarter because of the teachings and literature of a man that he looked up to his whole life Larry Hoover. Lo's affiliation with the well known Chicago street organization taught him discipline, and made him understand things that he never was attentive to. The time spent in juvenile sharpened his mind substantially that was when he and others discovered that he had a gift with rapping from the many freestyles he rapped in juvenile. Lo was already good with words which made it really easy to mix real life situations that he has encountered with a instrumental. Music was one thing he loved but he never took it seriously until many people began to compliment him on his words and swaggy flow. Lo took the advice from those who believed he could rap and began doing tracks with several artists locally and eventually he began to have a real confidence in his style, delivery, and ability. Chicagorilla Lo has also opened up for and performed with the following artist/Groups, Bone Thugs and Harmony, Lil Fizz, Gucci Mane and many more artists. All the struggles that Lo has encountered in his life from prison, deaths of close friends, and being born in a dysfunctional family has served as motivation for the Chicagorilla to motivate the streets that he was raised in and worldwide to show them that being a real individual does serve its justice in the end. Recently Lo’s brother was incarcerated for being a real individual and this has been even more motivation for the young artist to restore the code’s of the streets back to order.
