My first foray into music began at 7, playing piano, saxophone and drums all in the space of 5 years.
Music was always going to be a big part of my life.
Discovering dance music in the late 90's, it quickly became a passion and led to my first gig at 17 playing 'Jump-Up, Jungle and Drum n' Bass, under the name 'Construct.'
Soon after, I started my own weekly Jungle sessions at Da Box, called 'Structure' and later, 'Relapse.'
Originally from New Zealand, I moved to the UK two years ago to pursue a career with the BBC where I work as a AV Infrastructure Content Producer, attending all major UK festivals the BBC covers to provide technical support and video content for the online team building the website.
Prior to coming to the UK, I played regularly at some of the leading clubs in Christchurch, including Base (http://www.thebase.co.nz/), Ministry (http://www.ministry.co.nz/theclub.htm), Asta and Mansion.
I was resident for Christchurch’s leading club night ‘Nrgize’ who promote and run dance events throughout New Zealand and are responsible for bringing many of the big name Hard House and Trance DJ’s to the Southern Hemisphere, including Nick Sentience, Lisa Lashes, Andy Farley, and Ronski Speed.
Over the past 9 years my style has progressed from D’n’B and breaks in the early days, through to electro and hard techno (140 bpm) before arriving where I am now, with a unique mix of tribal, tech-house and techno. I always carry a diverse range of music with me.
Back in Christchurch I ran a bi-monthly club night at Capitol, called Dirty Habit.
Dirty Habit was designed to bring to Christchurch a dirtier, more underground sound that wasn't being offered. It will soon be brought to english shores....
