For Immediate ReleaseKCC Productions and the Van Dyke Cafe are proud to announce a Twilight
Series performance by the Fred Thomas Band downstairs at the Van Dyke
Friday, October 24, from 5 to 9 PM. Fred Thomas occupies a very special
niche in the history of R&B. As James Brown's principal bassist from 1971
on, he was part of one of the most prolific periods in the Godfather's
incredible career. Though Thomas' legendary bass playing has been heard by
millions, his talents as singer, songwriter, and arranger have long gone
unnoticed outside the profession. His new band is his vehicle for expressing
these talents and he is no longer the best-kept secret of the James Brown
organization. Featured also is Jimmy Moore on guitar, a veteran of 19 years
with Brown. Maurice Gaudson will be on keyboard, Doc Ellison on drums, Don
Gottlieb on guitar, Bill Hazelhurst on trumpet, and Dale Range on sax.The Van Dyke is located on Lincoln Road at Jefferson Ave in South Beach.
