Music, writing and spiritualism. The greatest gift in my life is my experience with Spirit because it connects me with the other side of life. My Mother passed to Spirit September 24, 2006, but she is still with me every day; all I have to do is call her and she comes through. There's no gulf between us now or evermore.
Good people of all ages from all walks of life.
Bob Dylan, Grateful Dead, Phil Lesh and Friends, The Byrds, Gram Parsons, The Stones, Jim Morrison, Elvis Costello, Charlie Sexton, Dave Alvin, Joan Osbourne, Eric Clapton, Tom Petty, Dean Martin (yeah... Dino!), Michael Franti and the Spearheads; and Hank Williams. A newcomer to the music scene, a young man by the name of Jackie Greene, has become a favorite too.
It's the old, old movies that I like best. Anything with Bette Davis, Greer Garson, Cary Grant, Humphrey Bogart, Jimmy Stewart, George Sanders, etc. Old English movies are fun; especially the mystery ones.
I don't own a television. Haven't had one for years. Don't miss it either! Before the year 2000 I would watch Turner Classic Movies and the SF Giants baseball games and that was about it. I didn't let the News into my living space when I had a TV and I don't let it in now.
Anything by John Steinbeck. I'm fond of A.J. Cronin, a Scottish writer who was also a doctor... old fashioned stuff. And Daphne Du Maurier. Her "Rebecca" is a favorite book. My friend Marcel, a Dylan fan like myself, wrote a book about the adventures of a Dylan fan called "Confessions of a Dylanomaniac". I'm in it; and he was kind... bless him! Love you Marcel!
My Mother for her strength and perseverence. The legacy she left me was the ability to stand on my own two feet through thick and thin. She gave me great strength. She had a hard life but she never gave up. I always knew she was strong, but I never realized how strong until the end of her life. She was a courageous woman.
