This summer we are spending it camping. See you when summer is over hahahaI'm not very good with myspace nor do I have the time or energy to invest. However, I would like to get a message to all our online friends regarding our long absenteeism. When we arrived in Vietnam we realized we were unable to access Hog. The country firewalls sites as they see fit and apparently it wasn't fit. We saw this as a sign from God. We really had no intentions on returning at this point. We moved November 2007. No one online knows our address and I think this time around we will not be revealing it in any fashion. But since we moved I'm not worried about any of our stalkers popping up on our door. I feel safe to return now. I am sure you all agree, I can't put my family's welfare at risk for a chat site. The Second AdoptionWe started this process in April of 2006. In April 2007 we completed the paperwork (on the USA side), got approval letter from INS that we are approved to adopt up to another two children. All we needed now was to get it to Vietnam for them to process. We decided to hire the same lawyer that assisted us with our last adoption. After a few months of waiting to hear from the lawyer in Vietnam, we decided to take a trip over. We left in August 2007, during this visit my husband got injured in a motorcycle accident. We weren't able to do much. The lawyer told us that the child is picked yada yada and the lawyer was reassuring. We went home in October 2007 to continue care for my husband. We returned to Vietnam in January 2008, this time we knew something was terribly wrong, we went to the Immigration Police who handles thier adoptions, they told us there were no paperwork and when we told them that we had wired this lawyer money they informed us that he would be in alot of trouble to bring them proof (receipt...) which we have.Vietnam prisons make our prisons look like mansions! We did not want to do this to him but it was TEMPTING!Only after demanding our paperwork back, we find the stack of paperwork that was shipped to him almost a year ago is there untouched. It looked exactly the way we shipped it to him. He did NOTHING! All he had to do was submit the paperwork! It was a simple task. We could of done if but decided to hire an attorney because of lost time at work. If only we can turn back time! Furious would be an understatement!!!!We tried to resubmit the paperwork but the paper work expired by the time we got to it.We have lost almost $15,000 dollars. Two years of our life. I am beside myself with grief, since I'm approaching 40 years of age. I dont know what i should do. Any advice there would be appreciated. Now we come to find out that Vietnam has frozen all adoptions with the US due to a story that a State Department leaked out regarding Vietnam selling babies. Effective June 1, 2008 No further adoptions will be approved. Kinda messed things up since we've already restared the paperwork. All we have to show for all our time is
-a stack of paperwork unsubmitted, this stack of paper is now worth $15,000
-An approval letter from INS allowing us to adopt two children. (Getting this letter was most of the work)I'm so filled with grief when i think about this...tears welling my eyes as I am typing this. I am so sad.I apologize again for not being very happy these days.I'm trying to get myspace up and running, please be patient.
