Bally was born in Oxfordshire & now lives in the Midlands. Her early influence of music stems from her father, as he used to be in a Bhangra group (performing at weddings & parties etc), so she would always tag along to rehearsals & other peoples’ weddings! (so if you’re ever watching old wedding videos & see a random six year old going crazy on the dance floor it’s probably her!). During her early childhood she took part in kirtan at her local Gurdwara, & remembers winning an inkpen! (if only she was still so easily pleased!). During secondary school she enjoyed drama & went to Drama school where she acquired a City & Guilds certificate & performed at local theatres & charity events. Her inspiration & idols are the likes of Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston & Celine Dion, whilst being at college she sent out demos which included a cover version of ‘Hero’ by Mariah Carey. She was then signed to a label, but unfortunately this did not come into fruition. She then moved to London to study at university….well, she went with the intention of studying but her passion for singing/music was re- ignited! She entered uni karaoke competitions, went to auditions & tried to make a bit of cash by appearing as an extra in TV programs. During this crazy time she met other people like herself who also enjoyed music, yet struggled to make it in the music scene. However, some have exceeded & done extremely well such as DJ Vix, Juggy.D & the Twilight Players. She’s always enjoyed poetry & songwriting, & hooked up with a friend to put one of her tracks together, she then tried her luck by sending it out to Dj’s & radio stations. Her track was recently played on BBC Asian network radio as part of a competition on the ‘Jump Off’ show hosted by ‘The Mentor Kollectiv.’ Her ‘musical journey’ has definitely been a struggle with many knock backs, but she hopes people enjoy her track. Peace out!
