Right now there are 20.8 million Americans who have diabetes. Unfortunately, 6.2 million people (or nearly one-third) are unaware that they have the disease. And another 54 million children and adults have prediabetes, which places them at high risk for developing Type 2 diabetes if their lifestyle does not change.
The mission of the American Diabetes Association is to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. We do this through research, information and advocacy. For more information on the services we offer, please visit our website at www.diabetes.org.
