I'm an 18 year old gelding Morgan horse and yes I'm gaited! :o) Most people say my color is liver chestnut. I also have a stunningly white zigzag blaze, creamy white soft nose, and a long flowing mane & tail. I'm full of heart and love to give kisses to people who are kind to me and give me treats :o)
More about me and my breed:To know the Morgan you must look into his face - gaze into his intelligent, kind eyes and you will see a true friend who is willing to lend you his courage, his good sense, his winning attitude. A loyal friend who will stand stalwartly by your side as you face challenges together.
His beauty will leave you breathless, this aristocrat of horses. Notice his proud carriage, run your hands along his upright graceful neck. Know that you are touching a living work of art.
Watch him gallop across an open field and admire his agility and grace. Absorb his spirit and exuberance. Better yet, let him take you along. Let him share with you his power, humor, and zest for life.
Ask him to obey you and he will. Ask him to be courageous and he will. Ask him to go the extra mile and he will. He is your companion after all, and he lives to please you.
Stylish and sound, sensible and intelligent, beautiful and athletic. These traits are the legacy of the Morgan horse.
Go to the pasture gate and call his name. His ears will prick up at your familiar voice and, because he is a Morgan, he will leave his favorite things -- green grass, pasture mates -- to come visit you.
He'll frisk you for carrots or other treats with easy familiarity, and when you reach up and scratch his favorite place he will, predictably, return the favor and gently scratch you back.
This is a friendship, after all, and the Morgan never takes more than he can give. His warm breath on your neck will say more about how he feels than any words.
You can tell him your secrets, this unprejudiced being who listens so well, and he will never betray you. If you are fragile, he will know and will carry you accordingly.
And when it is time to say good-bye, your Morgan will usher you safely to the pasture gate. He will not turn his back on you as long as you are there, but will wait until you are out of site with the hope that maybe you will stay a minute more.
