In the year 2006, Mike Stanton scouted the Entaco for new young players for the future of Studley Tennis Club to make Studley a force in the Tennis world. He picked out four talented young players, which have gone on to be champions for Studley. These players Ollie Smith, Mark Willmore, Nick Allen and James Fitton have gone from local lads to famous champions and have brought back pride to the people of Studley!
Mike Stanton first used these players in the C team in Division 7 of the Stratford & District Winter League, where they won the league unbeaten and they gained promotion to Division 6.
In 2007 these Players then played for Dennis Underwood in the B team where they just missed out on winning the league finishing on joint points with Harbury in Division 4 of the South Warwickshire Summer League but still managed to gain promotion to Division 3.
At the end of the 07 Summer Season, a tournament held at Stratford Tennis Club, basically the F.A Cup of Tennis, was won by the top most skillful doubles pair of Studley which are Mark Willmore & Nick Allen for Studley B which announced how quality they are and are now the most famous and feared players across the tennis world and have brought back pride to Studley.
Graham Fitton took charge of the C team in the Winter League and also appointed Mark Willmore as Vice Captain of the team. Studley C went on to win the Stratford & District Winter League Division 6 07/08 unbeaten and will be playing in Division 5 next winter.
Currently Nic Allen & Mark Willmore have broken into the A team managed by Derek Northam in Division 2 of the South Warwickshire Summer League and are showing their quality Tennis at the top level. While Graham Fitton's B team are in Division 3 with James Fitton and Ollie Smith.
Studley Tennis Club already has a massive fan base but the more fans the better, so feel free to pay your respect to the Pride of Studley.
