The original concept behind Tripwire was to be a metal band by the name of Hysteria that began in the summer of 06. This idea never really kicked off though and eventually several band members left for personal reasons. All that was left of Hysteria was guitarist Gianni and bassist Greg.Since two people can hardly be considered a band they decided to start over. it was decided that the band would take a traditional thrash metal sound but soup it up with heavy drumming and aggressive vocals. Guitarist Sean Gregory and drummer Nigel were keen to join and so where added to the line up.
The band spent a while looking for a vocalist to complete the line up until Sean Gregory decided that he would rather be the bands vocalist than guitarist. Now the band was down a guitarist but up one vocalist, but the slot was quickly filled by Matt Mangion. After a few sessions with the band though, Nigel decided to quit for personal reasons, but the role of drummer was quickly filled by Sean Christie. Finally the line up was complete, and a name for the band was chosen ... TRIPWIRE. Unfortunately, after some time with the band it was decided that Sean Gregory was not the type of vocalist Tripwire needed and so he was asked to leave. After a few auditions it was decided that Matt Micallef would become the next vocalist for the band, but after a while, he also quit the band, due to musical differences. Matt Mangion our guitarist has now also taken up the role of vocalist. More line up trouble occoured and drummer sean and guitarist gianni quit the band for personal reasons. A new drummer was found in the form of Daniel and we started working on a new set list to go live with. Finally on the August 8th '09 we got our chance to perform live supporting Club Murder and we cant wait to have another live gig!.
In the mean time we have found a second guitarist who learning our material as fast as possaible to add a deeper more complex rythem to our songs and give our vocalist the ablility to focus more on his vocals during some of our harder riffs.
