“There’s more music in my vein’s than there is blood.†Those are the words of RayWellz CEO and founder of TICE Records. The young artist/entrepreneur started the label in his small bedroom with a few recorded songs and a love for the captivating melodies that flowed from his heart. With only a few months until high school graduation RayWellz started asking intriguing questions about investment and small business. He found a mentor that was young, dropped out of college, and started a successful magazine company. RayWellz love for music and business would later on prove to be the collaboration of a life time. But his platinum dreams weren’t always at the fore front of his mind.
When RayWellz was sixteen he joined a local street gang. He began to suffer academically and mentally. The late night drinking and drug activity was destroying him. The future star spent most of his freshmen and sophomore year in alternative schools due to suspension and dire behavior. It was the last fight of his high school career that would ignite the RayWellz we all know and love today.
As the conviction became to much for him to bear he began to go back to the spiritual foundations his mother had raised him and his brother on. Friends, family, and teachers witness a miraculous change in RayWellz. By the end of his junior year you could hear RayWellz on Hot 107.9 hosting a teen orientated radio show called “Teen Talk†were he would give advice to young listeners that would call in. From the JV basketball team to the lead role in his high school play RayWellz was now the leader he once was. Newspaper articles such as the one he had presenting an award to B.B. King were becoming expected.
If it wasn’t for the prayers, support, and strong single mother RayWellz feels there would be no TICE Records. He believes in expressing yourself respectfully and positive productivity for all. Inspired by legends such as Jay-Z and Berry Gordy RayWellz has articulated longevity for the future of TICE Records.
