We are the original Djs of Red Zone, created by many hot Djs. If you had a chance in the 90's to get your hands on a RedZone Tape, you would know it was some of the hottest artists and brought forth some of the best in music. I am one of the elite Disc Jocky's that brought forth the craziness that brought about mixtapes. When we started there was no one doing mixtapes. It started as an idea, the djs of the Red Zone wanted to sell mixtapes in the clubs because lot of people loved our music. A few of us got together and then bam. It then got started, other people liked the idea and tried to copy us. But the difference was, the artists gave us their music to put on the tape to boost their sales. We only used artists whose people or themselves gave us their music. The fact that some of us worked in radio and clubs laid us close to the sources and best artists. They sought us out, and they were right, people came from all over the world to get a Red Zone Tape from the Village and from street fairs all over NYC. We may have started in the Village but from us started a conflagulation that emcompassed all that we hoped for. Which was to get people to dance, it shaped music to branch out, forced record companies to have to work together with our vision. Now you can find compilation albums everywhere. We started it, and others take credit, hey they can talk but so many people where followers of Red Zone. We reached farther and wider than any other and people still want to get one. We no longer do tapes/cds but many who graced our tapes have. They were the baddest Djs and still are till this day. We started a revolution, and it surpassed our dreams, who would have thought that when people who kept asking us to make them a tape for their car that it would lead to this. We thought that it would just be a fun thing to do, and we did it well. We also had the Magazine, it was given out with some of the tapes, and we had a site that has lasted for many years. Now the Red Zone site is still strong, we showcase new artists once again but now it is going to big. I/We have news up there and great stories, we want to let everyone know we are still here. Our objective was met, record companies had to put great music together, and give us the best, just not as fast as we were able to.
