Jimi Lipponen & the Kummitusjuna ( Ghost-train , that is!) is a four piece rock & roll band from Northern-Finland.
The band was founded roughly ten yars ago and has been gigging steadily ever since. The music style is as simple as the guys themselves, rock & roll with a splash of country thrown in.
The repertoire contains nice, not so obvious cover tunes and lots of originals. From Hank to Hanoi Rocks. The material provides a wide range of rockin party tunes to spill yer drink to and get laid to, just spin the discs and you'll know why. Or come to see the show, ask the shirtless, drunken guys in the front row, ask the girls with THAT look in their eyes, ask the guy behind the bar. They know.
The band has several songs on different compilations in the USA and Europe:
BlackJacket Racket / Skully USA
Greasers, skins, punks, vol 1& 2 / Squicktone USA
Rock & roll Virus / 1999 Finland
In the year of 1999 the band contributed music to a US made road movie "Dangerous Mode" by Richard Shipley.
In 2003, they were seen in the travel Tv-show "En route to Kainuu" Co-production of BBC / Finnish tv. The document feature contains some live footage and one original song "Good morning Elvis" during the end credits.
First disc My way to Hell came out in early 2003 for GTEi-label.
The cd got lots of nice reviews in different magazines and webzines.
The newest one Kesoil, came out in late March 2006.
