I started this project way back in 2004, when I started getting into the darker side of metal. Late 2005, Haunting Echoes was recorded. This was a combination of bits and pieces I had written over the course of many years, some riffs dating back to Synethsis, when I had no clue what I was doing musically. Influences of this 7 track cd included Dimmu Borgir, Slayer, early Rotting Christ, and At the Gates. This early effort is a bit too far removed from black metal, and has a lot of thrash and death metal influences in it. I enjoyed it at the time, and still do enjoy it for what it is, unfortunately, what it is happens to not be what Sanguinarian has been intended to be. Consider it something like Soulside Journey by Darkthrone.
During the summer of 06 I started work on my second album, which was to be a concept album with a coherent story throughout all of the lyrics, but I stopped work shortly after to complete a 4 track EP called Bleak. The music had changed so drastically and had taken such a blacker direction that I decided I needed to create something shorter, that I could complete faster and introduce people to the newer sound before committing to a full length. As of now the idea for the concept album is scrapped and I'm working on some newer stuff for a second full length.
