Bringing Sexy Back"

About Me

Diego Award-winning DJ Mark Van J, began spinning vinyl at CJLO hosting "Late Night with Mark Van J", every Saturday from 2am to 5am. This earned him the Diego Award for "Best Late Night Freak". He then went on to host "TBA With Mark Van J" for 3 consecutive years.
He also has a successful history of live DJ-ing including a show in Slovenia at the Lent Festival during the summer of 2007 and organizing the first Drum n Bass event at that festival, spinning alongside DJ's Hose, Tsunami and Markoman, in 2008.
After years of playing drums, bass, guitar and piano Mark Van J fell into the world of recording and production. After beginning his studies in Montreal he has recorded many bands and produced two albums. He is now a fourth year student of Electroacoustics.
He can currently be found engineering live sessions at CJLO radio for bands dropping by Montreal from tour, some of which were recently released for bands such as Fear Before The March Of Flames and Ghengis Tron. He has also recorded and produced 2 albums for BC folk artist Robbie Sinclair.
Mark Van J can now be heard on CJLO 1690AM, hosting the brand new "RPM Drive-Home Show" every Friday 4-6pm EST, where you can hear the latest in college RPM music.
