Starting out in 1999 projectwise and influenced by bands such as Idaho, Bedhead and Low, Gardin was turning to minimalistic songs in the vein of above mentioned bands.
The debut album Minor Setbacks (2001) got well received yet Gardin ‘paused to exist’ for nearly 2 years for reasons beyond music. Up until the summer of 2003 when Gardin continued as a ‘working band’ rather than an occasional project, things slowly evolved in more songwriting, concerts and recording.
Gardin contributed to Something must Break Vol 1 a US compilation album with all musically alike sounding bands. (released in 2005)The same year Epithalamium EP got released. The recordings on this EP were all half done studio session recordings between 2003 and 2004 which were completed in 2005.
