About Me

Breakneck Beats, started by Arkitech and Haze, was officially formed in 2003. Prior to that, both were heavily involved with music, each taking their own path. Both began djing in their early teens which sparked their interest in music production. Knowing that music was their calling, both enrolled in Nassau Community Colleges Audio Engineering Program upon completion of high school. Haze began djing at clubs on Long Island and New York City such as Summers in the Hampton’s and Club Exit. At the same time, Arkitech began interning at the legendary D+D Studios, home to DJ Premier. Having both gained invaluable experience, they decided to put their knowledge to use and open up their own production studio. While refining their talent, they hit the New York City open mic and battle scene to network and promote their music. They then met their manager, Adante Ace of AOS Entertainment, at Club Speed’s Open Mic Wednesday’s. Soon after this, they began djing at club speed, meeting the many artists who came to perform, which resulted in the release of the “Open Mic Wednesday’s at Speed” Soundtrack. The first of its kind, this was solely produced by BreakNeck Beats, and showcased some of the hottest unsigned MCs from the metropolitan area. “In My City,” a song featuring Lord Tariq, was featured in Street’s Mos magazine. Building on this buzz, BreakNeck Beats started entering beat battles in New York City, gaining the respect of their peers. Around this time, Adante Ace and AOS Entertainment began a weekly radio show on 91.9 FM, which aired every Tuesday night and reached over 400,000 people featuring BreakNeck Beats "Old 2 The New". Old 2 The New was a revolutionary idea that mixed hip hop songs with the original music they sampled. This led to the release of a classic promotional cd entitled “Old 2 The New” Volume 1, which continued the buzz for BreakNeck Beats. In February of 2006, BreakNeck Beats began doing sound for a new monthly showcase at Don Hills in New York City, keeping themselves right in the middle of the Hip Hop scene. With shows hosted by the likes of Kay Slay, Raekwon, Ed Lover and DJ Green Lantern, BreakNeck Beats has been able to showcase their work to some of the industry’s finest. Throughout all of this, BreakNeck Beats has continued to improve their production, djing and engineering skills. With their love of music and strong desire to succeed, chances are you will be hearing from them in the near future.
