Nea Agostini

About Me

//ENGLISH// The musical history of Nea Agostini can be summarized in his passion for blues and rock and roll, with a deep influence of guitarists like Stevie Ray Vaughan and John Mayer that has allowed him to perform with great stars of the genre, as Bob Margolin, Melvin Taylor, Little Charlie & Nightcats, Eddie C. Campbell, James Wheeler, Miguel “Botafogo” Vilanova, Horacio “El Negro” Hernández, Rick Latham, and Andrew “Jr. Boy” Jones, among others. His first steps as a guitarist go back when Nea was 10 years old, when he received his first electric guitar as a gift. Three years later, he began studying on the Escuela Moderna de Música in Santiago, Chile, and then he would improve his technique mainly because of the teachings of Felipe Llanos, one of the best session guitarists of the country and widely known throughout the national musical scene. When he was 16 years old, he was already recognized as one of the four top guitarists in Chile under 18-s, as a result of the Ibanez Project contest that searched the best musician in the country on the junior category. This was, undoubtedly, one of the milestones that marked the career of this young musician and that would give him the possibilities to get involved on many projects from then on. A year later, he began studying Flamenco guitar with Carlos Ledermann, considered one of the greatest instrumentalists of the genre in Southamerica. It was here where he could accomplish an eclectic sound based on the shades of Spanish guitar. On his eagerness of developing a unique sound and a technique that would make him rid of the comparisons to other guitarists, Nea was advised by important musicians such as Joe Satriani, Chris Duarte, Larry Coryell and Eric Johnson, Paco De Lucia, with whom he has shared experiences more than once. After perfecting his technique and playing with many artists in Chile, Nea decided to move to Milano, Italia, where, due to the influence of his new teacher, the great blues rock guitarist Gigi Ciffarelli, he would find his own style, which would define his own sound.

Sounds Like: Guitarist whose sound is based on the Texan blues of Stevie Ray Vaughan, his rhythm was the necessary element on Phillip Walker’s Big Band on the first week of September. Belonging to a new generation of guitarists, Nea stands out from his contemporaries giving a personal stamp to the old chords of Blues.
