About Me

The Little Walter appreciation society. Just when you thought you'd heard all that the British blues scene has to offer along comes an album that sets new standards. Material & arrangements of this quality are rare - this really is blues for the 21st century." - Stephen Foster, BBC Radio. " Simply one of the most enjoyable live prospects out there at the moment." Tim Aves - Blues Matters"

"Sensational - justified on this showing. This is a four piece playing goodrockin' blues" - Farnham Blues Festival review - Blueprint
" I can't help thinking that this is just the stuff to bring blues to a new generation of fans. It's smart, on the ball, musically sound, lyrically just spot on, and completely unpretentious in presentation - not a cobweb in sight! On this form I can't recommend them highly enough." - Hilary Drysdale - Blues in Britain
The groovedoctors are the most original band on the blues scene today, a very British blues band, mixing all genres of music into their blues and the results are awesome. They sing about what they experience and feel, the ups and downs in their lives, their loves lost and found, no Americana with them and thats why they stand head and shoulders above the bands currently on the scene. Now in their tenth year overnight success must be just around the corner with America waiting to have the blues brought home to them as it was in the sixties with the likes of The Yardbirds, The Animals, Led Zepplin, and who out there would argue...only those who have not witnessed them first hand.
Vocals and Harmonica
Luke Arnold has a distinctive voice that is soulful and infinitely expressive. His passionate vocal delivery makes for an electrifying stage show. As a harmonica player, Luke is the real deal – a true honours graduate from the University of Little Walter, specialist subject: pure tone. Luke has the sensitivity as a player to create pure, clean sounds on an open mike, to fierce hard driven amp tones and in addition, ‘Highlife’ is laced with the lush, warm tones of the Chromatic harmonica.
Guitar
Tim Ainslie, Award Winning Guitarist, is one of the finest guitar players on this side of the Atlantic. His unique style is stamped on ‘Los Earlos’, his debut recording with the groovedoctors ‘Highlife’ draws upon Tim’s incredible range of genres from the purest of Rhythm & Blues, contemporary Funk and Soul, to mesmerizing jazz rhythms and good old floor-filling Beats.
Lightnin' Willie; 'Hell, this guy is the the most innovative guitarist on the European scene'
East Anglian Press 'Guitarists of this calibre are a rare breed, tone and rhythm in bucket loads'
Radio 2, Paul Jones; 'Must see, must be heard star of British blues'
Rhythm Section
Fergie Fulton, Bass & Backing Vocals and John Butters, Drums. Together they are one of East Anglia’s most sought after and respected rhythm sections, between them they have a wealth of experience.
Fergie, rock legend, blues superstar, is a multi award winning bassist who came to prominance on the UK scene with the now legendary Booze 'n' Blooze in the late eighties. His effortless style and understanding of what bass is there for, makes him possibly, the best blues bassist in the world?
John is the most respected drummer on the scene, his power and touch behind the kit has to be heard live to appreciate why he's in the 'chair. Johns raise to fame came as part of the greatest rocking blues band to come out of East Anglia .. The Mean Red Spiders. Together they are a 'tour de force', completely in the pocket and having fun on stage, and it shows as they are in constant demand to record and work with other artists outside the groovedoctors work.
HI we are the groovedoctors, four EA based musicians, who tour and play Europe and the USA, with our music. 'Any music, any style, but it must groove', is the ethos the groovedoctors stand by, to take us and our music around the world.
There are three groovedoctor albums and a fourth on the way. In some countrys we have been approached about making a new album out of the back catalogue to make up a new release as not all songs are suitable, so a straight release is possible with a new mix if required, we'll keep you posted on developments as they will be available as imports from the country of origin and who knows they could be collecters items. We are writting a fourth album at the moment, gigging the songs and ideas in, the album is provisionally called 'songs from the green tin'. As we are into promoting and playing live music, we are called apon from time to time to act as a pickup band for various blues artists, this policy is still on going and open to anyone who fancys touring the UK.
