Valentina Bardazzi (1974 - Prato, Italy), has graduated as Art Master at Istituto Statale d'Arte Policarpo Petrocchi in 1995.After has attended the International School of Comics of Florence in 2002 she has graduated at Accademia di Belle Artiof Florence by a thesis titled "the falsed image, a trip through the corporal methamorphosys".

These paintings of Valentina come from the scanning of the details of her hands. The intent of this operaration is to magnify the wrinkles of the fingers and in particular the wounds which can be noticed at the sides of the nails. This work concentrates on a status of anxiety which evolves in attack of panic: the wounds are the result of an obsessive biting the skin around the nail (onychophagia), a self-injury due to a status of acute anxiety. For this work Valentina has collaborated with T.C.O./Mirco Magnani that has composed the music and made the visuals especially for the exhibition/live act "Parenthesyne Suite" produced in 2008 by Suite inc./Suitevision.
