Made up of former members of B.C.’s Oceans of Regret and Eleanor’s Fall, The Soft Takeover run through a few gears familiar to fans of another aggressive area rock act no longer around: Small Brown Bike. Songs like “I’m The Mountain†and “Here Come The Waves†have a rich guitar sound, immaculately captured on this introductory EP, which propels the barely contained shouted-out choruses, bass-barreling down behind them.
