Altornator

Altornator first got into the music scene around 87’ visiting an uncle and set eyes on a pair of technique 1200 decks and a stack of house records. He started collecting records from labels such as Reinforced records, Boogie Beat, Moving Shadow, Production House, Formation records and sneaking into venues with friends to enjoy the scene and see how things were done. The main spot was Oscars in Clacton-on-Sea. He joined up with a few friends calling themselves Silk Touch shortly changing the name to Black Mafia. The sound consisted of 3 main DJ’s playing Junglist, RnB, and reggae an a network of MC’s. Events were played all over the country at universities, clubs, pubs and house party’s. Venues like The Flower Pot, Palm trees, Diamonds, Bel-air, Ladbroke grove, Pier one, Pegasus, Oxford Polytechnic, Kingsbury High, Stamford Hill Youth Club, Ashwin Street, Arcola street, Trinity hall, Maximus to name but a few along side sounds like Glamour Guard, Lady Force and King Matic. He then began playing for a radio station called Sol FM where he would do a two hour Junglist set on the weekends building a name for himself.---------------------------------------------------- -----------------------------------------In 92’ went to The Wax club and watch Funky Flirt an Shabba, Brookie an Det, Andy C, Digital, Puppa G and DJ Hype doing there set and decided to hand in a mix tape. The following weekend was playing at the venue and did so until 94’ when they decided to knock it down to build the new A12 flyover.---------------------------------------------------- -------He took some time out to raise his two beautiful children and got back in the scene around 99’ where he joined with Origin FM and is still there rolling out the Old Skool Junglist beats Sunday morning 10am till 12pm.http://www.auraitsolutions.co.uk/
