The PoinT of ImPacT

About Me

Brought together through Facebook and emerging from the ashes of the original configuration, The PoinT of ImPacT prove they have what it takes to forge their own path. Using innovation and talent over music theory and Pro-Tools, they cut through the cluttered soundscape with the fury of a thousand raging warriors!

It sounds awesome! - Tom "The CraZED SpACE MonKIE, Production Director 90.7 WJSC-FM

The PoinT of ImPacT are not afraid of the "expectations" which are placed on most metal bands. They aren't afraid to explore uncharted waters and expand on their sound without worrying about whether or not it will be classified as "metal." They grab sounds as they come seemings out of the ether and organize them into well orchestrated pieces of art.

The PoinT of ImPacT recently made the leap from Analog to Digital at the speed of FIREWIRE but bypassed the ProTools sterility of most music and settled on Cubase with the Alesis MultiMix 16 Firewire Interface. The only problem now is that they're going to have to re-record all their analog songs, but worse things have happened! Like the flooding of the studio back in March 2007....Fun Fact about the Music

Although EricTheReDD writes most of the lyrical material, he collaborated with Travis on "Dawning of Apocalypse" and, unless noted in the lyrics section, the music is the result of the combined efforts of EricTheReDD and Travis.- Fun Fact about the Band

The PoinT of ImPacT are writing their debut album in conjunction with EricTheReDD's Nordic Star Productions. They are unsigned and are willing to negotiate with a record label that gives them the respect and artistic justice they deserve.

EricTheReDD has a strange desire to do a death-metal cover of a Coldplay song. Fun Fact: Travis Hates Colplay.

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: http://www.garageband.com/artist/thepointofimpact
Band Members:

EricTheReDD (Vocals / Guitar / Studio Bass / Producer and Primary Songwriter)

Eric breathes new life into a trite and tired genre with dynamic guitar licks, chunky rhythms and vocal dynamics thought lost to modern music. His broad taste in music shines through in every song he writes, sings and plays.

Travis (Drums / Co-Production / Musical Innovator)

Travis delivers the ImPacT for this triplet of sound with swift kicks, sharp attacks and creative use of his equipment. The MaGyver of the drum world, Travis goes to show what you can do with bungee cords and broken hardware!

Zachy McBlacky (Live Bass / Co-Production / Groove Maker)

Zach is quite a character in and of himself. His Punk styling acts as a check to the balance of Travis' Sludge and EricDaReDD's Grunge. He also packs enough power to blow out grandma's pacemaker!

Influences:

EricTheReDD - First and foremost: Freddie Mercury and Brian May (Queen - Greatest Band of All-Time). Without Freddie's inspiration and Brian's persistence and ingenuity, I would not be the musician I am today. I'm also heavily influenced by Andrew W.K. and also thankful for his kind words of support that always help me through the hard times. Other artists and bands that seem to make their presence known in my music: Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Smashing Pumpkins (Billy Corgan especially), Drowning Pool, Van Halen, Ted Nugent, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Green Day, Soundgarden, KoRn, FLAW, and many many more....

Travis - Pantera, Fear Factory, Anthrax, Buckethead, CKY, Future Leaders of the World, Lamb of God, Misfits, Mnemic, Motograter, Slipknot, OTEP, Sublime, Coal Chamber, Static-X. R.I.P Dimebag!!!

Zach - G.G. Allin

Sounds Like: The Smashing Pumpkins, Billy Corgan, Soundgarden, Bush, Pantera
