I am an Irish traditional uilleann piper and low whistle player/composer, living on the wild Atlantic coast of Ireland.
My early piping influences were Leo Rowsome and Seamus Ennis. My childhood summers were spent in the west Cork Gaeltacht of Cúil Aodha where my passion and love for the music flourished. Here I was introduced to the work of the great composer Seán Ó RÃada. Seán's work made a huge impression on me, and set me on my musical path.
In the late nineteeen seventies I toured extensively throughout Europe as part of the legendary folk-group The Wild Geese.
I have developed my own distinctive musical style, that is original in a traditional mode. It ranges from haunting slow airs to the lively percussive reels and jigs which can be heard on my three highly acclaimed CDs "CoumÃneol", "Ancient Rite" and "Lumina".
I have been living in Dingle for almost thirty years with my partner Ilonka and family, and I continue to work and tour both at home and abroad.
