Dirty Dishes is the concept of Boston artist SCARRIE SINSATION. Scarrie has been a freelance artist in the Boston area for many years painting original works of art in various mediums on nontraditional canvasses such as ceramic platters, drumheads, and skateboards. She has organized, promoted and designed art shows/theme nights in the area often opening with performances by local bands. She has also been key in designing and implementing artistic concepts for restaurant and nightclub spaces including lighting, furnishing, and painting. After spending the last year and a half helping to open the succesful restaurant/nightclub dbar in Dorchester sporting the title "director of all thing fabulous", Scarrie decided the time was right to return to her ceramic roots. She teamed up with Elaine Dietrich of Cozy Corner Ceramics to design and create an eclectic line of dinnerware. All pieces are handmade from pouring the raw clay, to glazing the final product. Scarrie's influences stem from rock and roll and include comic book art, pin-ups, poster art, and album covers. She strives to create dinnerware that could be displayed along any art pieces as well as set on the table. After all, rock and roll isn't just music...it's a lifestyle.
