Was born on the 15th of December 1988. He has surprised a lot of people who knew him as a small boy with the confidence and articulation he now shows. Ek-cel was born with a speech defect which meant that he couldn’t’ speak until he was around the age of 5. With the confidence he is now portraying as the younger brother of Hollywood he is striving to emerge from his shadow.Away from music Ek-cel is well known for his achievements in athletics, he was the fastest male in the London borough of Redbridge when he was 15 and in the top 20 in England over the 100m distance in 2005. Parallel to this he has been able to ek-cel in his academic work also, gaining 9 G.C.S.E’s in the summer of 2005 with 4 of them being an A grade. This has contributed to the development of his balanced and mature character. He is currently studying A-levels at Beal High School in Redbridge (far east London) in Sociology, Physical Education, History and Religious Studies, which he hopes to complete in the summer of 2007. He was introduced to the UK garage scene from the young age of 8 due to Hollywood’s minor moves in the local circuit as an MC (then MC Major K), he was exposed to acts like Pied Piper. DT, DJ Reaper and the Heartless Crew. He would say his musical influences (along with the English acts) are of course American Hip Hop artists including Nas, Biggie and The Game. From the UK they include East London’s Nasty Crew, the original Pay as you go Cartel and his associates Legacy lgc. His musical style in terms of flowing on the beat I still believe is still developing as he is still young. But he has plenty of time to find that with the help of his mentors Legacy lgc.
