A professional band operates differently for your function, event
or club. A professional band has the skills necessary to be able
to read the crowd and play what they want to hear. A professional
band understands that this is business, and to be profitable your
patrons must be happy and entertained. A professional band
understands that the night is about you and not personal egos.
In Northern New England there is such a band and it is called
Flashback.Flashback began in 2001 under the direction of Jim Conners. Jim
started his music career earlier than most, raised in an amplifier repair
shop on his fathers classic 50-60’s records, at age 12 the young
entertainer landed his first full time gig, and never looked back. His
journeys have taken him across the country including the famed
Atlantic City Casino Circuit, before finding himself nestled in Gorham,
NH. Today Jim maintains and books his three acts under the umbrella
name of “Flashbackâ€.Besides his solo work, there is Flashback; a three piece band that
plays a collection of tunes from the 50’s, 60’s & 70’s with a few from
the 80’s, 90’s and today. Next there is Cruisin’; a very unique
acoustic version of the same era of tunes but done with just acoustic
guitar and a world percussion set-up played by Jeremy Larochelle,
who is also the three pieces drum set-player. Cruisin’ is perfect for
clubs that want low noise, have minimal room, and tighter budgets, but
works just as well for a unique evening that will make you shake your
tail feather.Sometimes a band is just too much. They are just too loud,
take up too much space or just don’t fit into the
atmosphere you want to create. You still want live music
and would like to have something a little more interesting
than some guy with a guitar or chick at a piano. Cruisin’ is
your answer. This two piece acoustic duo plays all the same hits as their
regular band Flashback, but drummer Jeremy Larochelle
switches over to a fully percussive kit and band leader Jim
Conners dawns the acoustic guitar. This unique mix is light in
volume while offering the natural rhythm of the drums so your
patrons want. They can shake some booty. With Cruisin’ you get the rhythmic qualities of a rock band with
less space, a lighter volume and a musical uniqueness at an
affordable price.
