Jump: Press A are Edinburgh based with an indie/pop/rock direction, whose sound has been compared to the likes of Garbage, Muse and Placebo, with other influences ranging from Idlewild, Doves, Pixies, Skunk Anansie and PJ Harvey, to Philip Glass and Steve Reich.
Their songs are multi-layered mini-epics with dark lyrics that strike hard against a background of quirky riffs and pop driven melodies.
They have been gigging in Scotland since summer 2008 and have recently
released a three track sampler CD entitled 'In Case of Emergency.' The sampler was self-recorded, mixed and produced at their home studio. The most popular track is, ‘You Are,’ although all three tracks have been well received. They have been told many people have been listening to it on repeat. Copies of it have made it as far away as Kuala Lumpur.
They had their first airplay, on Vic Galloway's BBC Radio One show, ‘Scotland Introducing,’ where they were chosen to be included in his 'Back of the Net’ feature, which aims to feature the best free new Scottish music downloads available on the internet. They have also recently been interviewed by Leith FM, during which, they exclusively previewed, ‘In Case of Emergency.’ Following the success of the preview and interview, they were invited to return to do a live acoustic set in May 2009. Tracks from, ‘In Case of Emergency,’ have also been featured on other podcasts.
Jump: Press A are ready for some serious exposure and are preparing for a summer jam-packed with gigging and writing.
