Threshold Threat was formally founded on the 4th of March 2005, yet the idea of creating a band came to life much earlier – in the autumn of 2004 when Insomniac and Sergey ‘Malton’ Medvedev were sitting in the kitchen and thinking hard about how to accomplish such a difficult task. That line-up hasn’t managed to make even a single rehearsal though. But the goal was set and an irreversible process had begun.
In the spring 2005 Dmitry ‘Dime-Bag’ Kostyuchik , a talented guitar player and a member of the band ‘ Poligon ’ agreed to join our band as well. Mikhail ‘KuDer’ Kudrey , an old friend of Insomniac became the singer. It must be noted that at the beginning Insomniac wished to be the second guitar player but when all the attempts to find a good bassist had failed, he was bound to take that role instead (He doesn’t seem to regret it though! J - KuDer) .
The newly-created band began with playing cover songs but pretty soon we started to think on some songs of our own. The main direction that we took and continue to follow now is to create the music oriented on the Russian-speaking audience and all the lovers of so-called ‘old school heavy metal’, but also as original as possible.
From the very beginning the band had hell of a bad luck with drummers.

The reasons why we parted our ways with them were different: organizational problems, skills and even personal misunderstanding.
Anyway, we’d like to say thanks to those who played with us and made a great commitment to the band – Alexander ‘Kust’ Aksyonov ( Klod & Iustas ) and Max ‘Domainor’ Alexandrov ( Avoid ).
In the summer 2006 the band was on the verge of disbanding. The line-up was incomplete and the members lacked free time to work in a normal tempo. Unfortunately Dime-Bag had no other choice than to leave because of numerous difficulties he had to face at that time. The future of the band was uncertain.
In spite of that the search for a new guitar player and a drummer had begun. At that same time Insomniac accidentally got in touch with Nasos who then played in an absolutely different band. What started as a regular ICQ-talk in the end became a tight co-operation. Nasos joined the band and that was like a breath of new life. Old songs were re-written and new fresh ideas appeared, as well as the opportunities of live performances and recording sessions, which were pretty much impossible earlier because of all the line-up changes.
The first live performance took place on the 27th of August 2006 in the ‘Relax’ club in Moscow. By the way until August 2006 the band was actually nameless. The title ‘ Threshold Threat ’ was born thanks to Cyrill ‘H1tman’ and had been accepted by the band members although initially they didn’t want to take a title in English.
On the 5th of January 2007 TAMAnoid joined the band as a session drummer but soon after that he became a full-time member.
Now the band is concentrated on live performances and recording sessions. Our story keeps going on but this is your story as well because if you have come here, it means you also take part in it.
