The Woman in the Sky,fiction.• Claudia drops out of Uni to follow her dream of becoming an artist. On her quest for freedom and self expression, she moves into an unheated East End warehouse in the middle of a very cold winter where she gets involved in the underground scene of London in the hedonistic, early nineties. An acid laced, sexed up stream of consciousness about growing up and the importance of listening to ourselves and letting life lead us on our path… The narrative will take you to the East End of London, Camden Town, the 'ghettos' of Hackney, to Kings Cross and Portobello Notting Hill and it will transport you to a time when dance music was kicking off in a big way and people hoped dance would bring world peace and raise the awareness of the planet. It has and still is. In the UK a whole generation's youth movement and its music were made illegal or pushed into the corporate club world to create the place it is now. A country involved in a war against the wish of the majority of the population with more CCTV than any other place on the planet... • .....here follows an exerpt.....: “C’mon Paloma your turn now! You could be the naked angel in the courtyard!” We go downstairs and make Paloma stand in the arch by the entrance. “It’s all right,” I say, “nakedness is a state of mind, nothing to get too excited about.” You should see people’s faces coming into the building. Their eyes nearly pop out at the sight of pretty Paloma wearing wings greeting the world without clothes. I'm in stitches, I film their reaction as well.
