At the Guildhall Paul sang roles including Superintendent Bud (Albert Herring), Don Basilio (Barber of Seville) and Der Lautsprecher (Der Kaiser von Atlantis).Paul has sung Colline (La Boheme), Speaker and 2nd Armed Man (Magic Flute) and understudied Sarastro (Magic Flute) for British Youth Opera, Colline (La Boheme), Betto (Gianni Schicchi) and Sparafucile (Rigoletto) for Diva Opera in French and Swiss Festivals. He has sung The Parson in The Cunning Little Vixen for Opera Theatre Company (Dublin), English Touring Opera and for the Janacek Festival in Brno, Czech Republic.For Glyndebourne Opera Paul has sung Publio (La Clemenza di Tito) and understudied Trulove (The Rake's Progress), Colline (La Boheme) and Sergeant of Archers and Innkeeper in Manon Lescaut (Puccini). For English National Opera Paul has sung Colline (La Boheme) and Somnus (Semele) and covered Basilio (Barber), Publio (La Clemenza di Tito), Banker/Theatre Manager (Lulu) and Zebul (Jeptha).Other roles include: Dr Bartolo (Figaro) for Opera Box, The Sergeant (The Pirates of Penzance) for The D'Oyly Carte Opera Company in the West End, Sarastro in Die Zauberflöte for Kentish Opera and The King in Aida for Raymond Gubbay at The Royal Albert Hall and Birmingham Indoor Arena.Paul created the role of Matthew in The Last Supper (Birtwistle) with Daniel Barenboim at Staatsoper Berlin and performed the role at Glyndebourne Festival and Tour and the Royal Festival Hall. He also created the Role of PR Guy in The Birds by Ed Hughs for The Opera Group at The City of London and Buxton Festivals.With Scottish Opera Paul sang Gremin (Eugene Onegin) and understudied Sparafucile in Rigoletto. For Welsh National Opera Paul sang The Parson in The Cunning Little Vixen and has covered Sparafucile, Zebul (Jeptha) and Commendatore.For the Royal Opera House (Linbury Studio) Paul sang the role of the Dean in Babette's Feast (John Browne).Future engagements include: Ceprano (Rigoletto) for English National Opera, The Chancellor (May Night - Rimsky Korsakov) for Garsington Opera, De Fiesque (Maria di Rohan - Donizetti) and Mr Gobineau (The Medium - Menotti) for Wexford Opera.Awards include: The Countess of Munster, The Mary Datchelor Trust, The Tillett Trust, The Richard Lewis Award (Glyndebourne), The Patrick Libby Award for Dramatic Excellence and The Sybil Tutton Award, 2001 winner of the Verdi/Wagner Prize in the Mozart International Singing Competition.Paul has sung recitals at the Wigmore, Fairfield and Blackheath concert halls and sings concerts regularly around the country recently at the Sheldonian Theatre Oxford with the Oxford Philomusica, also The Royal Festival Hall, Manchester Bridgewater Hall and Westminster Abbey.
