Sonya Balmores is an actress, model, surfer, and beauty queen from Kauai, Hawaii. She is currently a series regular on The N’s television series, Beyond the Break, playing the easy-going and free-spirited, Kai Kealoha. Sonya's career has been skyrocketed, due in part to back-to-back magazine cover shots in SMART, FOAM, OUTSIDE Magazine and Women’s Health. Sonya personifies girl-next-door sweetness and goodness. Beyond her natural beauty lies a very smart and funny young adult. Radiant, exotic and confident, she began her young acting career as a dancer in her high school's musical “Guys and Dolls” and with the role of Nani in Fox Television/Imagine Entertainment’s pilot called “The Break.” Sonya represented Hawaii as Miss Hawaii Teen USA 2004 and placed first runner up in Donald Trump’s nationally televised Miss Teen USA pageant. This year Sonya's stars in Ride the Wake, a short film directed by Jennifer Akana Sturla. Ride the Wake will be screened at this years Louis Vuitton Hawaii International Film Festival October 13th.
