Powered by BlogCatalog I am a 24 year old songwriter living in Ventura, CA. I became interested in writing when I was about 7 years old, wrote my first lyrics when I was 9, and first picked up a guitar when I was all of 13. I grew up listening to Classical music, and oddly enough, considering who I am today, wasn't even introduced to Rock music until I was 12. A friend of mine back in Waggaman, LA introduced me to a band by the name of "The Offspring", and I've been hooked on rock ever since. When I first heard "Nirvana" I decided that music was what I had to make, and have been striving to do so ever since.Trying to describe the music I write has never been easy. It doesn't seem to fall into any specific genre or category that I can think of. I'm sure this is thanks to the fact that my taste has been nurtured listening to bands such as "Nirvana", "Sound Garden", "The Offspring", "Bush" "Green Day", and even bands like "Muse" (At least, Muse pre-Black Holes & Revelations). My vocals are heavily inspired by Kurt Cobain, but I was also greatly coached by Chris Cornell, Gavin Rosdale, and Rob Thomas. Although, I suppose coached isn't the right word, as I have never met any of them, but I did live with their music for many years.
I have been in several bands over the years, and none have worked out. Unfortunately I have never been able to find the right people, and am currently in limbo, trying to decide whether to attempt a solo career, or search for band mates once more. But in any case, music is my passion. I live to write and perform it, and you have stumbled onto one of the places where I share it with you.
