ABOUT CRAIG

Native San Franciscan, Craig Abaya has been playing professionally since the age of 17. Currently, he juggles music with filmmaking and technology. As director of SF State's Digital Media & Entertainment programs , Craig is quick to connect his industry colleagues with the community via education. Likewise, he and his colleagues enjoy connecting deserving students with the entertainment industry.
His first filmmaking efforts (at 12) can be seen on the KRON-TV "San Francisco" series of documentaries. In addition to the film work he has done with various musical aritsts, his portfolio of stills contains a veritable who's who of popular music. His concert photographs can be spotted on the walls of Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California.
Each summer, Craig directs his student camera crew for the Stern Grove Festivals (now entering its 72nd year), filming musical performances, interviews and pre-concert talks for video podcasts and concert videos at sterngrove.org and iTunes.
Craig also serves as video director and concert photographer for The Bridge School , founded by Neil and Pegi Young. Currently, Craig is producing his first solo album, "The Fine Art of Politics" featuring Fred Wolford, Dan Alvarez, Jack Shiner, Myron Dove (Santana), Kenney Dale Johnson (Chris Isaak), Eric McCann (Clarence Clemons and the Red Bank Rockers, The Freaky Executives), Joanne Lorenzana, Jack Shiner and Danelle MacDonald.
