About Me

I am a 49 year old married woman with four children. My oldest, Kym(39), we lost 3 years ago. My oldest son, Jeff(36), is a policeman up in North Jersey. My youngest daughter, Patti(23), is into biotechnology and would like to be an English teacher eventually. My youngest son, Charlie(20), is a framer. As you can probably guess by now they are my pride and joy! I also have four grandchildren, all boys, ranging in the ages of 10 to 1. They also are my life's sunshine! The oldest three are far away and I don't see them, sadly, but my son-in-law and daughter-in-law sends me pictures of them. My youngest grandson, Devin, is my little buddy. He makes a bad day go away!!!! I love a day at the beach where I can just look out to the ocean (I don't go in it, I just like to look at it, it's safer that way), and reflect on everything. I enjoy walking and used to do alot of it, but, due to illness can't anymore. Libraries are my get aways when I can't go too far. Nothing like a good book to get into. I don't need much in the things department. I live a simple life and try to look on the bright side of things (there always is somewhere). I enjoy my computer and finally after years of wanting one I have it! All I kept saying was " I'm not a dinosaur anymore!" I'm kind of hyper and need to keep busy so my husband thought this would help me. I love to research things, anything, especially if it is very complicated.

My Interests

Reading, Sewing (anything-quilts,crocheting & knitting, pillows(I really enjoy doing those), crafts-wreaths totebags, etc. Things like that , I need to keep busy. I Have something going in every part of my house, and Yes, I do finish them. Sometimes it takes me some time, but, they do get done.

I'd like to meet:

Neil Young-I'd ask him what provoked him to write the songs the way he did and tell him what a great sound he had then and now. I'd love to meet a broadway dancer to ask what it's like to be up there in the lights and hear the applause of your audience. Just to sit and talk to them would be great. Ivana Trump-what it's like to not worry where the rent is going to come from and why does she still work when she really doesn't have to, although she is really good at it anyway.

Music:

I Love all kinds of music and depending on the mood I am in that is what I'll listen to. If I am in a quiet mood I'll listen to easy listening or instrumental. If I am in a nostalgic mood I'll listen to oldies or classic rock. I love country music too and folk. As I said before it all depends on what I feel like listening to.

Movies:

I enjoy a good movie that can hold my interest throughout. I am not one to sit still for any length of time so if it can do that it's pretty good. Comedies are my favorites but I also can get into a good action flick and animated is cool to. Scarey isn't my cup of tea, I'm a big scardy cat.

Television:

I enjoy sitcoms, game shows(although the new ones are pretty stupid if you ask me), nitetime dramas such as October Road,Gray's Anatomy are big with me. News programs are great too, there is always something to learn with them.

Books:

Nora Roberts,John Grisham, Maeve Binchey,Stuart Woods. They are some of my favorite writers. Also, I like to read biographies. I read my newspapers from cover to cover. Sports I am not really keen on but a race story or baseball, football are okay with me. I usally look those over. Basically I love anything that's a good story, whether it be real or imagined.

Heroes:

My parents are my heroes!! They were the last of the working era. My Mom because she raised five kids alone and kept a roof over our heads with never a utility shut off and always food in the pantry. She was amazing, never one to put up with any nonsense, but always there for a shoulder to cry on, and spoke the truth like it or not. Daddy because he worked so very hard, no matter what. He always praised my Mom even though they had their differences. He never gave up on his dreams and was the most humble person I know. They were of an era of respect, for themselves and others. Pride for what they did and had done in their lives. Independence, cause they could and did do it themselves. You just don't see it anymore today.
