About Me

Originally from New York, Randi created and produced "The Songwriters Circle" in 1991 at The Bitter End, New York City's first writer in-the-round show which is still successful today. She now lives in Nashville. She has performed, recorded and/or toured as a backup singer with The Mavericks, Gloria Estefan, Buster Poindexter, Englebert Humperdink and Roger Daltry. For three years she was the Show Producer of Tin Pan South, the largest songwriting festival in the world. She then worked on the new PBS television show Legends and Lyrics as the Talent Supervisor, organizing and booking the acts. She is currently VP of A&R and Catalogue Acquisitions for 515 Music Group. She has once again returned to songwriting full-time and writes country, pop, r&b, blues and rock and has had cuts by many artists in the US, Canada and Europe including the last single by The String Cheese Incident. She's co-written a new musical which was featured in The Eugene O'Neill Theatre Festival in August 2008 and will be the headliner for the festival again in August 2009. The show is also being prepared to be done in NYC and Chicago. She continues to write with many talented writers in Nashville, New York and LA and does consultations and private lessons for voice and songwriting clients.

Influences: Growing up in New York, Randi was raised listening to everything from La Traviata to The Beatles to Johnny Cash. Her father loved Broadway and her mother loved Bach. When she was a child, her older brother gave her Joni Mitchell's "Blue" and Carole King's "Tapestry". Those records influenced and shaped her life at a very young age. She began writing and performing her own songs in clubs at 15 years old. She still listens to all genres of music, encouraging her voice and songwriting students to do the same.
