Max has started his musical career very early learning flute and piano and then after a drum period started to play the bass at the age of 17. He started to play in the bands "Showstars" (Tanz- and Showband) and "Tedeum" (Rock Cover) till 1979 in the town of Dithmarschen where he lived. Moving to Braunschweig meant for him the change of the bands. He played then in "Sound Express" (Gala), "Medley" (Hard Rock), "Sun Fun" (Funk) and Splitter (New Rock & Reggae). During this years he started to play with the band Bluespower (1985). He stayed with this band for 20 years and played beside B.B. King (Support band), Dave Kelly, Otis Grand, Steve Baker, Henry Heggen, Cynthia Utterbach, Tyree Glen Jr., Alex Conti, Lee Mayall just to mention some names. He produced 3 CD and went on tour through Europe, USA and Mexico. In Mexico he studied bass with Roberto Aymes and recorded a CD with the Sancho Bros that has been published in 2004 by Jazzcat Records later. In the year 2005 Max left the Bluespower and went on tour with Encoveree and Dominik Clayton. In January 2005 he started to play with Elena Ley.
