..Just to keep my inner friends; solitude has its many rewards! BUT....I never had a chance to meet my Huckleberry
friend...still searching... What did Jimmy Durante say, "Where is the real stuff in life to cling to?" Guess I have lived the Saturnian life which a Capricorn is promised...

I have found almost everything ever to be written about love to be true. Shakespeare said, "Journeys end in lovers meeting." Personally I have never experienced anything remotely close to that, but I'm more than willing to believe that Shakespeare had. I suppose I think about love more than anyone should. I am constantly amazed by its sheer power to alter and define our lives. It was Shakespeare who also said, "Love is Blind." Now that is something I know to be true! For some, quite inexplicably, love fades. For others, love is simply lost. But then, of course, love can also be found even if "just for the night." And then there's another kind of love--the cruelest kind, the one that almost kills its victim. It's called unrequited love, and of that I am an expert! Most love stories are about people who fall in love with each other, but what about the rest of us? Those of us who fall in love alone? We are the victims of a one sided affair. We are the cursed of the loved ones. We are the unloved ones, the walking wounded....

And when nothing is possible, when only loneliness remains, then remember this tender story....
A rose dreamed day and night for the company of the bee's, but none would come to indulge in it's petals. Nevertheless, the flower, continued dreaming. During it's long nights it imagined a sky where many bees would fly and would come kiss her tenderly. That is how she existed until, the next day, when she would re-open with the light of the sun.On a certain night, knowing the loneliness of the rose, the moon asked: "Aren't you tired of waiting?" And the rose replied, "Perhaps. But I must continue to struggle."
"Why?" said the curious Moon.
"Because if I don't open myself, I will perish."

"Because woman lives so close to our first mother, the Earth, she emanates the strength and harmonious nature of all things."
--Larry P. Aitken, CHIPPEWA
At an Elders gathering, held in July 1991, we were told the Indian woman would play an instrumental part in leading the healing of Indian nations. The old people said we were to look up to her in a sacred manner. They said the Earth Mother would give the woman special gifts of love. The woman and the Earth Mother are connected in a special way. Women should pay attention to the lessons coming from the earth. Men should treat the women with respect, dignity and honor.Grandfather, Grandmother, give the Indian woman Your strength to heal our earth.
Elder's Meditation of the Day
"We as men should not fear our mates; we should listen to their counsel."
--Oren R. Lyons, Spokesman, Traditional Circle of Elders
The Elders say the men should look at women in a sacred way. The men should never put women down or shame them in any way. When we have problems, we should seek their counsel. We should share with them openly. A woman has intuitive thought. She has access to another system of knowledge that few men develop. She can help us understand. We must treat her in a good way
Elder's Meditation of the Day
"Women know more about love than men do...Love is taking. Love is sharing. Love is learning things about each other."
--Mary Leitka, HOH
The Elders say Mother Earth shares Her special gifts of love with the Women. The Women know about bringing forth life and nurturing their offspring. Through this gift of love the Earth really makes the Woman special. Men should look upon the Woman with a Sacred Eye. She should be respected. The Woman is a role model for love. When the Woman talks, we should listen; when she shares, we should be grateful. We should all learn about each other.
Grandmother, teach me to love with the power of the Woman

Elder's Meditation of the Day
"Anyways, with medicine there's a time and a place for everything. It only comes around once. You have to get it at the right time."
---- Cecilia Mitchell, MOHAWK
The old ones say two things must be present for a miracle to take place. One, the right time. Two, the right place. This is why we need to honor our ceremonies. Ceremonies are done in an order. This order is applied to open a "door" to the right time and place of the medicine. This door opens to the Spiritual World. The Spiritual World is available to us at the right time and the right place.
My Creator, let me be patient today so the timing is right.
