Biography José Alvarez-Brill
José Alvarez-Brill was born in Kassel. In 1979, he establishes his first recording studio. In 1982 he moves to Aachen. During his studies (business administration / marketing), JAB launches a music and video production. Already his first video becomes video of the month in the legendary German TV show “Formel Eins”.
This first success is followed by numerous dance and order productions for music artists like Bonnie Bianco, Bad Boys Blue, The Winners (No.1) as well as for renowned record labels (EMI, BMG, BCM, Rough Trade, WEA etc.), accompanied by several chart entries, as for example “Erdbeermund”, “Der Komtur”, “Superlove” and “Music in the streets”.
At the beginning of the nineties arises another pathbreaking cooperation with the band Wolfsheim. For this band JAB produces three albums and numerous singles. The album “Spectators” (1999 / 2000) holds 2 on the German album charts for a very long time and is awarded with gold in 2004.
Singles like “Once in a lifetime” (Top 20) and “It..s hurting for the first time” (soundtrack for Detlef Buck..s "Liebe deine Nächste") as well as the charismatic song “Sleep somehow” (soundtrack for "Straight Shooter" featuring Heino Ferch and Dennis Hopper) are produced.
Moreover, JAB produces two albums and five singles for the band De/Vision, which also immediately enter the the charts. The single „We fly“ and the album „Monosex“ mark the height of their career.
The music of the TV show „Stern TV“ with Günther Jauch, which was composed and produced by JAB, has been broadcasted for ten years now.
With the song „Die Flut“ by Joachim Witt / Peter Heppner, he achieves one of his greatest german-speaking successes. The single is awarded with gold and platinum. It hits 2 of the singlecharts for weeks and is nominated in 1999 for the German music award Echo.
