Mystic - founded by Dobe ‘n’ Daze and backed by the forces of Juice Blender and Democrazy - is one of the longest running drum ‘n’ bass nights in Ghent/Belgium and is still going from strength to strength… Previously held at Vooruit (Balzaal), but now at the brand new venue Minus One, where the bass sounds just the way it is meant to be heard!
Our belief in the artistic value of this music is what really drives us, and this is reflected in every aspect of the production. Whether it is the line-up, the artwork or the choice of venue/ sound system/ lighting, it all sums up to a whole that oozes quality and passion.
In a time when other organisations are often lead by numbers and therefore go with the obvious (read: mindless ravey nonsense), Mystic tries to show that true drum ‘n bass has always been about deep, future-thinking, cutting-edge music. While standardisation and uninspired DJ sets surface more and more often in this so-called “established†genre, we try to swim against the stream by looking for daring, truly devoted artists with a story to tell. All the guest-deejays, whether international or local, are carefully chosen to match these criteria.
