Cormorant were born in March 2007 after the death of many failed and fruitless musical projects. Sole member P Black, bass player in all of the (not named of this page) pre-Cormorant bands felt uneasy at the prospect of his creative ideas been lost to the great black void of unrecorded music, thankfully that was not to be the case. Going alone was never going to be easy, especially for a bloke from Rotherham who is only really competent at playing bass, but digital technology has been put to good use. Aided by illegal downloads and many an hour sat in a dark room with a bass guitar Cormorant quickly ceased to be just another idea and evolved into the very real project we see today.

Work on the Debut album is very much still ongoing, a few songs still need finishing off, others polishing up and as you can tell by the samples provided on this page no vocal tracks are down but if all goes well the whole thing will be available for free download (linked from this page) from the summer solstice 2007. Until then i have uploaded a 3 track pre-album promo containing three full length tracks minus the vocal tracks.
Mr P Black has also started work on a separate project, I The Suicidal Elite playing experimental funeral doom, exploring places that the cormorant will never see.
