High Times

CATALÀ:
High Times és una banda d'ska de Barcelona (Vila de Gràcia) i està formada per vuit components: veu, guitarra, baix, bateria, teclats, saxo alto, saxo tenor i trompeta.
El grup té una certa trajectòria -neix l’any 2000-, però no és fins l’any 2007 que assoleixen major volada, després d’un punt d’inflexió en l’estil musical i una renovació en la formació. El darrer any han realitzat prop d’una vintena de concerts actuant principalment en festes majors i en diferents jornades de la darrera edició del Correllengua.
L’estiu de 2007 van actuar al Rebrot -7è Aplec de Joves dels Països Catalans-, després de ser segons classificats al 6è concurs de grups joves “Esclat”.
A finals de setembre de 2008 surt al carrer el primer treball d’estudi (un EP amb cinc temes) gravat als estudis Meteosat a mans de Marc Tena (The Fenicians), coproduït per en Jordi Manyà (Dr.Calypso, Skatalà i The Fenicians) i amb la col.laboració d'Enric Grau "Xato" (Dr.Calypso i The Fenicians) en el tema "Temps".
El directe de High Times ofereix un combinat de temes originals del grup amb versions de clàssics de l’univers skatalític.
ENGLISH:
High Times is a ska band from Barcelona (Vila de Gràcia) with eight members: voice, guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, saxophone, tenor saxophone and trumpet.
The group has a certain trajectory -it is born in year 2000 - but it is not until the year 2007 that they achieve a greater projection, after a point of inflection in the musical style of the group and a renewal of the members. In the last year they have played nearly in twenty concerts, acting mainly in local festivals and in different editions of "Correllengua", conference that supports catalan language and culture.
In summer of 2007 they played in the 7th "Rebrot" fest, in support of Catalan Countries, after being classified in the second contest of the 6th youth groups competition, called "Esclat".
At the end of September of 2008 they record their first CD (EP with 5 tracks) in the Meteosat studios with Marc Tena (The Fenicians), co-produced by Jordi Manyà (Dr.Calypso, Skatalà and The Fenicians), and the colaboration of Enric Grau "Xató" (The Dr.Calypso and The Fenicians) on the theme "Temps".
The High Times live offers a combination of their original themes with versions of classic skatalitic universe.
